 Affiliated Schools - SSD and MVS
There are two schools at our Association - The Singapore School for the Deaf (SSD) and Mountbatten Vocational School (formerly known as Vocational School for the Handicapped).
Here's some information about the 2 affiliated schools:
 
Singapore School for the Deaf

The Singapore School For The Deaf was established in 1963.

The school is staffed by teachers employed by the Singapore Association For The Deaf.

Total Communication was adopted in 1977 as a medium of communication and instruction in the classrooms. The effectiveness of Total Communication is evident as more students are passing their Primary School Leaving Examinations and are being promoted to Secondary Schools.

Mountbatten Vocational School

This school is an ITE Approved Training Centre for the conduct of the ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) to people with disabilities.

The ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) is a two-year training programme. The programme conducted by the Vocational School for the Handicapped (later renamed to MVS - Mountbatten Vocational School) begun in 1997 as an alternative to traditional, archetypal technical skill courses that were conducted in the past.
