The SADeaf has never authorised any third parties
to conduct Sign Language Workshops or Sign
Language Courses on our behalf.
Participants of all SADeaf Sign Language Courses
are required to go through an assessment at every
stage/level. Result Slips are provided while
Certificates of Achievement are issued to those
who have successfully completed each level of
examination. These Result Slips and Certificates
of Achievement are indications of the
participants' communication competence level and
does not in anyway qualify them to become
instructors. |

About SEE 2
(Signing Exact English)
SEE 2 (Signing
Exact English) has been adopted as the
language of instruction among deaf children in
Singapore since 1977 and is now widely used as a
system of communication in the Singapore Deaf
Community.
SEE 2
is a Manually Coded English system. It is a Sign
system that makes visual the English Language
through the hands. It was developed in 1969 in
Southern California, USA with the aim of teaching
deaf children English. About 75% to 80% of SEE 2
signs are either borrowed from American Sign
Language (ASL) or modified ASL signs. SEE 2 and ASL
are however different sign systems. |
