Roles of Volunteers

Volunteers are precious assets of SADeaf:

  • Volunteers are important working partners helping us to achieve SADeaf mission.

  • Volunteers from all walks of life bring in the diversity of additional knowledge and skills complemented with passion, energy and experience. Together with the staff, SADeaf can do more by creating further Deaf Awareness and providing quality services to the Deaf Community.

  • Volunteers can help the Deaf to integrate better into society.

Structure of Volunteer Group
There are currently five groups of Volunteers organised according to different focus groups. Our registered volunteers are invited to join at least one of the following four groups:

 Administration Support  Public Education
  • To assist the Secretariat in administrative work.
  • To provide clerical support like data entry, mass mailing etc.

    • To promote Deaf awareness and address the public's misconceptions
      on Deafness.

    • To plan and undertake public awareness projects, e.g. carnivals, designing of brochures, publicity campaigns. Volunteers are also required to give support to public education events organised by the SADeaf. Hence attending meetings
are required. Such meetings are chaired by volunteer leaders and will mostly be held after office hours or during weekends. The group may also need to source for funds for their projects.
